Random posts from the jagged edge...

So, a while ago, pretty much before anyone in my group of friends knew what blogs were, I had one. It was around the time when my dad died, and I needed a place to vent. Anyhow, Sara recently googled me, finding my old blog (which I'd honestly forgotten about). You know what? It wasn't half-bad. Anyhow, since blogging is now the "KEWL" thing to do, I'm jumping back into the swing of things with a tumblog. What's a tumblog you ask? Short, sweet and to the point - Basically everything I'm not. Heh. I come across a lot of cool stuff on the web in my day-to-day travails...basically, I plan to post the best of what I find here. Quotes, snippets, music, video, software andjust...stuff. With any luck, there'll be something new each (week)day.

If I can commit to this endeavour for any length of time, maybe I'll expand my publishing empire to include a 2nd blog with whole paragraphs and opinions. Don't hold your breath.

And to those of you who think I'm jumping on a bandwagon...just remember - I was here first!

Love this version of Radiohead’s “Just” covered by fellow brit Mark Ronson. Decent video too.

So, for those of you that were at the Jays home opener with us and missed the huge fight about 10 rows up, here’s 40-odd seconds of shakey cel-cam footage that’ll give you a bit of an idea. What’s next? MLB hooligans? I thought the worst you had to put up with at a Jays game was overpriced concession stands, ridiculous parking prices and annoying hecklers - there were kids there fer chrissakes! I mean, MAYBE if it was a Toronto FC game…at least that’s (ostensibly) soccer…but c’mon - a fight at a Jays game? That’s like a straight Richard Simmons.  Anyhow, it just goes ta show ya: alcohol + idiots = bloodied, wounded idiots. Stupid, STUPID rat creatures.

This is the funniest Bollywood clip I’ve ever seen: definitely racy - some people might consider it practically softcore, so might be NSFW, depending on where you work…talk about doing an end-run around the Indian censors though. Actually it’s from Bangladesh, and it doesn’t leave much to the imagination, despite the protagonists being fully clothed. Enjoy it, laugh at it or both - it’s your choice.

The only good thing Microsoft has done in ages.

Pretty kewl: Just download the latest version of (uggh) Windows Live Messenger, and choose an “i’m” code. A percentage of the ad revenue will go to the charity you choose. Simple. Good. Why didn’t Apple think of that? Oh yeah, ‘cause nobody uses iChat.

So, a few days ago, I heard a great mashup of The Beatles “Come Together” and “Closer” by NIN. So here it is: Come Closer Together (via Youtube’s Doomtrain79)
